Beneath the city of Eldren sleeps an ancient evil. A thousand years ago the mage-kings of the old realm waged a war they could not win by sword alone — so they buried it. They drove the horror down through the roots of the world and chained it in stone, and with it they cast their greatest prize: the Amulet of Yendor, an artifact said to grant dominion over death itself.
The seals have grown thin. Cold air now seeps from the old well in the market square, and on quiet nights the citizens hear claws dragging across stone, far below. The rats of the first level are only a whisper of what waits beneath — gnoll scavengers, crabs of the flooded sewers, skeletons of heroes long forgotten, and on the lowest floors, the very thing the mage-kings sacrificed a kingdom to contain.
The Adventurers' Guild has posted a bounty for any soul who returns the Amulet to the surface. Hundreds have gone down the worn steps — a Rogue with a quick dagger, a Mage with a humming wand, a Huntress with an unblinking eye. Not one has come back. The steps are still there. They are patient. Now it is your turn.
Five guardians hold the deep gates. GOO, the pulsing slime of the sewers. The venom-tailed Scorpio Prime. The dwarven war-machine DM-300. The mad Dwarf King on his bone throne. And the Iron Sentinel, last lock before the abyss. Defeat each, and the way down opens. Fail, and the dungeon keeps your bones with the rest.
